We know that choosing a new dentist for your child can be a huge task. We want to make it easy! From the first moment you and your child step through our doors, we greet you with open arms and let you know how important you are to us.
We agree with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in the philosophy that every child should visit the dentist by his or her first birthday. We can share all kinds of tips and tricks for getting your little one on the path to a lifetime of health, evaluate oral development, and help the whole family feel at home and relaxed with the idea of dental visits.
Whether it is your infant’s first-ever visit, or you need a new dentist, your initial visit with us will set the stage for a lifetime of great dental routines. We will spend the visit getting to know you and your child, as well as conducting a cleaning.
We really aren’t worried if your child is a little nervous or cries. This is a natural response to stress. Don’t be embarrassed! We are child development experts and know what to expect. You can help before the visit by avoiding any scary words like “shot” or “drill,” and instead, focusing on the positive and fun aspects of visiting a new place.
We will start by showing you around the office, introducing you to our staff, assessing your child’s dental needs, and evaluating personality and behavior for the ideal approach – all while gaining your child’s trust and confidence.
Your child will visit with both the hygienist and the doctor so we can decide what, if anything, will be needed at the next visit.
And of course, you will be able to get acquainted with all the fun things we have in our reception space. There is a play area with a kitchen and all kinds of toys for the kids, which is especially nice when more than one child is visiting us. We don’t have video games or TVs because we think some stimulating, creative play can get your child engaged and ready for interaction with the doctor. Of course we have books and magazines for parents and older children alike.
Every treatment room is outfitted with all kinds of gadgets, gizmos, and fluffies to make visits convenient and super comfortable. There are computers to keep records handy and show you and your child what is going on in their mouth with digital x-rays and imaging, We also have cozy neck pillows and blankets. Everyone asks for them, from tots to teenagers. We even have noise canceling headphones so kids can listen to music instead of focusing on dental noises. And after procedures, when gums are numb and feeling weird, we will offer a sugar-free popsicle as a soothing reward.
We believe dentistry should be affordable. That’s why we take insurance, including Delta, MetLife, and Cigna. And for any procedures that might not be completely covered by dental insurance, we also offer CareCredit.
At this time we are not accepting Molina, Care Source, or any Medicaid plans.
