To the wonderful families of Buckeye Pediatric Dentistry,

It has been a long and amazing road to get to where we are today! In 2005, I had been working in a pediatric dental office for a few years that had different treatment philosophies than me and I wasn’t very happy.  I heard that a dentist in Reynoldburg was looking for an associate. That seemed too far away, but I decided to go check it out anyways. Thank goodness I did! When I first walked in the door of what is now known as Buckeye Pediatric Dentistry (back then it was called Gerald Kassoy, DDS, MS) I knew it was different. Special. Very special.

I found a practice that cares about kids the way I do, one that takes the time that each child needs to have a great experience. I found a place that treats kids and their families the right way, the way everyone deserves to be treated, and provides the highest quality of dental care with an emphasis on prevention over treatment. It felt comfortable and fun. It felt like home.

Our practice was started in the late 1960’s. That’s over 50 years of caring for the smiles of central Ohio kids!  50 years! What an amazing legacy. Dr. Kassoy bought the practice in 1979 after the untimely passing of it’s founder, Dr. Alpers. I joined Dr. Kassoy after that fateful meeting in 2005 and we became a partnership in 2011, renaming the practice, Buckeye Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kassoy retired in 2017 after 38 years of providing the best care to the most fabulous kids! I am so happy to have Dr. Marlina Shah on board with me for the rest of this journey and we are both proud to be carrying on the traditions of personalized, exceptional care that Columbus has come to expect from our long history.

We are really the luckiest dental office, we get to work with fun and caring coworkers and care for the nicest and most wonderful families to provide beautiful and healthy smiles every day!  Here’s to the next 50 years. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s smile, we are happy to have you in our family!

With care,

Lucia Gerstmann DDS, MS
